What Is a Listing Agreement
A listing agreement is a contract between a property owner (principal) and a real estate broker (agent) authorizing the broker to find a buyer for the property. It establishes the agency relationship, compensation, and authority. Exclusive listings MUST be in writing (Statute of Frauds) and have a DEFINITE TERMINATION DATE.
