Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC)
TREC is the state agency that regulates real estate brokerage and inspection in Texas. Created by TRELA (The Real Estate License Act), found in Texas Occupations Code Chapter 1101. TREC has 9 commissioners appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate: 6 must be licensed real estate brokers, 3 must be public members.
